I remember that when I put the "Seventeen Seconds" record on the turntable for the first time and the music began to emanate from the speakers, I knew at once that it would infiltrate all my days, whether I wanted it to or not, spreading into the early summer and far beyond, that translucent sound, those aquatic guitars, that standstill of blurry chords held in a hover by the echo....
